Our Instagram followers will know already, (and the lucky Southwell Music Festival attendees…) but we recently delved into our exciting new offering, pairing 2 of Britain’s favourite things: Tea & Cocktails in the form of Batch Tea Bar.
Anyone who knows what we’re about will know, we’re not your reg’la tea company. No sir. Our aim is to make people see tea in a different light. Tea if fun. It’s interesting. It’s varied. And it’s bleedin’ versatile.
So bringing tea into the broader events space is something we’ve wanted to do for a while, so when we caught the festival manager’s eye we had the perfect opportunity.
Southwell Music Festival
Southwell Music Festival is an epic classical music festival run each year at the beautiful Southwell Minster, Nottinghamshire, and this year they wanted to offer a new Festival Hub, comprising a couple of bars for attendees (and the general public) to refresh and congregate when not enjoying the aural delights on offer in the minster.
Not to mention somewhere for the phenomenal orchestra and other musical artists to get a refreshing post-performance beverage (or pre-performance Dutch courage – you know who you are…).
This year, the weather was H.O.T.T. HOT! Meaning lots of parched festival-goers seeking out refreshing drinks to revive them. So that’s where we came in.
We served up classic cocktails with a tea twist, all invented in-house (literally in our houses), and a selection of mocktails / iced-teas.
Let’s just say it was a LOT of fun inventing, creating and of course testing (thoroughly) our inventions. Some didn’t work. Most were awesome.
Luckily the festival attendees also thought so.
Flying off the shelves were our Southwell Symphony (see what we did there? Eh? No flies on us); Batch Earl tea infused premium London Dry gin shaken with elderflower syrup & fresh mint, over ice & topped with slimline / diet (importantly!) bitter lemon.
Also the Scotch Apple-Tea-Ni flew – premium scotch with freshly juiced Granny Smith apple & iced green tea & dehydrated Granny Smith slice garnish.
Cult favourites were our alcohol-free Peach Iced Tea and the New Old Fashioned Way –Lapsang Souchong infused super-premium Bourbon stirred lovingly with sugar & bitters with expressed orange garnish.
